'cdnee' lmao one of my problems with kpop, and it's not the idols' fault i know, is that they apparently can't afford/risk perfs without the bloody backing tracks. it just makes even lives sound canned, and even if someone was gonna come up with interesting adlibs, it can sound weird bc of the backing. i like when they harmonise with the backing track ofc. but it's still tiresome. i love that oppars can sing and dance well simultaneously but sometimes
i just wanna hear the goddamn singing
now that taemin is apparently all that they should get on the program
waiting for pressed 'if u hate it so much wae r u a fan' anons to appear now
it's kinda long but i really enjoyed it. and no need to bash taemin the reason he should be main isn't bc he's better then jongyu but jongyu's voices are so different
anon. wat i mean is that if sm were more interested in working out how to incorporate their various musical skills (okay, that's mostly 4 out of 5, but still) better into their repertoire, shinee would be a much better group. but that isn't the main point of a money-making boy idol group, so they can't in this setup. do u rly disagree with that?
shinee was created not to let them expand as musicians or to grow their talent but to make money. simple and clean, the reason why shinee exists is like any idol group, to be a cash cow for sm
that's why i'm happy that taemin is improving because it makes me sad to see the other members not move as much. by all means, after 5 years, minho's rapping should be much better or he should have at least developed a sense of flow by now, key should have fixed or improved on his occasional pitch and blending issues, and jongyu both should have improved their vocals by a lot
kpop's obsession with high notes is another weird and frustrating thing for me, idk if i'm alone on that? i know it's one of the things a large audience can 'get behind' easiest, bc it's showy and can really make a song pop, but i have listened to too much great music that doesn't revolve around the Impressive High Note Delivery to rly care.
just realised i don't even hate this because it's only 3 out of 5, i hate it because they would never bother to rearrange instrumentals or backing track to make it sound organically like the 3 of them (whether the 3 in question can sing them should not even be the problem) for the occasional missing member/s
wae is it a virtue to make kpop idols sing while they're sick. blabla korean culture blabla money blabla HARDWORKING OPPARS. it's so so bad for your voice if you do it regularly, which i somehow suspect happens at places like sm...
