i just feel like i let him down so much

just the loneliness he felt in his last few years when his they shouldn't have been like that, his blindness, the cancer, the fact that we never able to pay him the attention he deserved because our own lives got in the way

he deserved to leave us happy but he left so sad i'm always going to regret it

oh shit. i don't rly have anything to say that might help bc i'm kind of dealing with a very similar issue, and even tho i've pm given up my own life to take care of this person it's still not enough

but you know i think ultimately the problem is the economics of our society, the way there's no real support system for anyone who slips between the cracks, the way caregiving within the family isn't considered real, important work

i know but even if all the odds had been against us, i don't think i'd ever feel okay with the way we treated him
