clearly sm plans ridiculous amounts in advance and lbr, shinee have never been a priority

for where they are and the kind of returns they get sm, they've had an amazing year

we might think oppars are perfect but ultimately it's how much money they get that makes a difference and they just don't have a popular appeal or a batshit fandom to fund them

oppars have probably made more money this yr than any other before
2 albums + a repack 1 japanese album 2 japanese singles so far and might i add boys meet u is now 8-9k more than replay kimi wa boku everything \o/ their cfs with etude, and skechers not to mention their solo activities wgm, a drama, a musical, and a sitcom

anon, you're not being practical at all and i don't think he's unhappy unless he's like, a ridiculously ungrateful person, which i am sure he's not. he is not going to be feted for just his voice. it's nice, granted, as his personality but beyond that, his appeal is limited. you're saying certain industry professionals want him as do korean fans but the majority of the korean public is not hankering for him and ultimately, they are the audience, not stans. if it's a non-idol production or event that caters to the public, i wouldn't blame someone for not picking shinee. they're not snsd.
